Giving help to those who need it
Samara's Heart is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with heart diseases. We provide financial assistance to families who need help paying for their child's medical care, and we also raise awareness of heart disease in children.

About Us
We help children with no financial support fix heart issues
Samara Heart Foundation (SHF) is a non-governmental organization (NGO), registered in 2018 by Dr Angela Odike, a Paediatric Cardiologist working in a rural teaching Hospital in South-South Nigeria. The foundation was established to help fund the treatment of children with congenital and acquired heart diseases (hole-in-the-heart), with particular attention to indigent children in the rural areas. The foundation also hopes to create awareness on the existence of heart diseases in children. Most children in the rural areas have late presentations and intervention resulting in increased morbidity and mortality. In some of the children who are eventually seen, poverty prevents the institution of the appropriate treatment and for some parents; it is cheaper for the child to die. Most of these children can have normal lives if appropriate intervention is instituted as soon as necessary. We hope that through SHF, awareness will be created on the burden of heart diseases in children and the much needed intervention will be made available at little or no cost to the children. MISSION
